Include Myanmar as one of the 23 worst-hit countries in the world

The United Nations is one of 23 countries in the world that are facing the worst famine in the world.

Myanmar has been included in the list of six other countries since the World Food Program (WFP) and the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) released their report in March.

Patrick Jacqueson, head of the FAO Geneva office, said the famine would worsen in the next four months if humanitarian aid could not be accelerated in those countries.

“For most people who are suffering from severe food insecurity, the conflict continues to be a major cause.

In the next four months, severe weather and climate instability are likely to affect many parts of the world, “said Patrick Jacqueson, chief of The Christian Science Monitor’s Washington bureau.

Battles; The FAO and WFP say a blockade on the delivery of life-saving aid to starving families and a lack of funding are hampering food delivery efforts for millions of people in need of emergency assistance.
